We would like to take the opportunity from our side at Compass Transport to thank you for your business and wish you a very Merry Christmas. We appreciate the trust our customers have placed in us over the years, and we look forward to continuing to serve you with all of your transport needs in the next year; as a token of our appreciation, we would like to share the following 5 Road Safety Tips for Christmas!
Avoid drinking and driving
Be sure to plan ahead for a designated driver or take public transportation home if you’re out celebrating with friends. The conditions may be like on the road. Make sure that no friends or family drive while impaired; rather than have them angry with you, avoid an accident. Furthermore, make sure you leave with a full tank of gas and if you’re going on a long drive, be sure to take breaks along the way. Finally, it’s imperative that you make sure that if you have teenagers that they are aware of the rules when it comes to road safety.
Slow down
The holidays can be a hectic time, and it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, but don’t let that haste come at the cost of your safety. Make sure to drive under the speed limit and pay attention to traffic signs and signals. Paying extra attention when driving is especially important during holiday travel times or inclement weather, so always be prepared for unexpected delays or road conditions. Don’t forget to check the vehicle you’re driving. Make sure the wipers, lights and tires are all in good condition before taking off on a road trip!
Check your vehicle
The holiday season also represents an excellent opportunity to perform maintenance checks on your car or truck, such as topping up fluid levels, checking brakes and oil filters etc. – wintery conditions require special attention when it comes.
Be aware of additional dangers
From icy roads to more cars on the roads, there are a few added dangers you should be aware of this season. Snowy or icy conditions can have an impact on your vehicle’s performance, so make sure you allow yourself extra time and space to come to a complete stop. Also, be sure to look out for other drivers who may need to be more experienced in dealing with adverse conditions. Furthermore, the holidays mean extra cars on the roads, so be extra vigilant when in congested areas.
Check your vehicle
Make sure your car is adequately prepared for the season by checking things like oil levels, tire pressure, brakes and wiper blades. Taking the time to check that everything is in order can help you avoid any potential issues or accidents this holiday season. Additionally, if you plan on taking a long road trip, be sure to bring the necessary supplies in case of an emergency.
Be mindful of other drivers
When out and about during the holidays, don’t forget that everyone is likely feeling rushed and may not always be driving as cautiously as they should. Give other drivers plenty of room to make their moves, use your turn signals and don’t tailgate! It’s also important to remember that even though you’re in a hurry, safety always comes first – so take it easy on the roads this season. In addition, make sure to give yourself plenty of time for your travels so that you’re not feeling pressured to make up for the lost time.
In conclusion, we hope all of our customers have a safe, wonderful and Merry Christmas. We at Compass Transport are proud to provide quality transportation services that help make your travels worry-free this holiday season and all year round! Wishing you joy, peace and happiness during the holiday season. Have a very Merry Christmas from all of us here at Compass Transport!
